Meet Miss North Carolina - Melissa Marie Chambers

Melissa Marie Chambers is looking forward to transferring as a junior to N.C. State University in August where she will be majoring in Public Relations. She is excited about the many opportunities that await her by going to N.C. State and living in Raleigh, our State Capitol.
For the next year as Miss North Carolina, she will be promoting her platform “Dare to Dream” building self-confidence in people, motivating them to believe in themselves and their dreams. She plans to encourage everyone to pursue his or her goals and dreams until those goals and dreams become a reality.
As a member of Kiwanis International, a global organization that serves the children of the world, Melissa is able to reach out and encourage the community to dream big by speaking at different places from schools and youth groups to clubs and health facilities. In July, she has been given the opportunity to go to Montego Bay, Jamaica on a Missions Trip to minister to the children in the orphanages and in their communities. She has volunteered at the ABCCM Womens Shelter, the Brian Center and as a teacher for young girls in the Missionettes Program at her church.
Melissa has excelled academically while in college making the Dean’s List, President’s List and won 1st place in the Mens/Womens Open Tennis Tournament. She can be described as active, ambitious and outgoing. She enjoys playing tennis, running and spending time with family and friends.
